Summer Reading

End of Year Awards and 5th Grade Parade
We will have virtual awards next Tuesday, May 25th. Next Wednesday, May 26th, from 5:30-6:00 p.m. we will be hosting our 2nd annual 5th grade drive through parade (come and go).  
Virtual Open House is March 30
We are excited to host a virtual open house next Tuesday, March 30th. Families are encouraged to have their students log in to their homeroom Canvas course and join their teacher for an introduction at their given time. Grade level teachers will be available for 10 minutes to welcome families and explain the activity that students will lead their families through.  
Virtual Book Fair March 1-14
We are working hard to keep kids reading and raise critical funds for our school with our Scholastic Virtual Book Fair on March 1-14. 
Spring Picture Day is February 8
Spring Picture Day is Monday, February 8th. All students will be photographed, and no money will be due on picture day. 
January WiFi Tower Upgrades
Beginning Monday, January 25th, Castleberry ISD will be performing upgrades to our WiFi towers to enhance the speed and coverage provided to our students at home. 
PACE Support Program Begins 1/23
As part of the PACE Saturdays support program, or PACE, our dedicated team of educators and administrators at each campus are stepping up and opening schools for in-person instruction from 8:00 AM to 12:00 Noon on Saturdays for students who may need just a little extra help 
Celebrating School Board Recognition Month
The Castleberry Independent School District will join 1,024 school districts throughout Texas to celebrate January as School Board Recognition Month 
4th 6 Weeks Mode of Instruction
Hello CE parents, Your child's method of instruction for the 4th six weeks will remain the same unless you contact your child's campus by this Thursday, January 7th, or campus administration has revoked remote learning for your child. No action is required if you will be keeping the same instructional method.  
Virtual Polar Express Literacy Night
Student may wear pajamas December 10 as we celebrate literacy night and the Polar Express virtually. At 4 p.m. on Dec. 10th, families will receive a link in Canvas and through email that will send them to the Polar Express Literacy Page. 
All In-Person Students Learn Remotely 11/19-11/20
Due to the increased cases of COVID-19 within our district and community, the number of students and staff currently quarantined, and the shortage of substitutes, CISD has decided out of an abundance of caution that all in-person students be required to switch to remote learning for the remainder of this week starting on Thursday, November 19, 2020. 
Wi-Fi Tower Updates
During the week of December 7th through the 11th, Castleberry ISD will be upgrading the equipment on our Wi-Fi towers to provide increased coverage and faster connectivity of the district's at-home wireless Internet service. 
Cyberbully Prevention Week
During the week of November 16-20, our CE counselors are sharing resources to help students and families prevent cyberbullying by learning how to be safe and kind online. 
2020-21 Calendar Update
In accordance with the latest TEA guidelines Castleberry ISD will be offering both in-person and remote instruction for the Intercessional Learning weeks of November 16 through November 20, January 4 through January 14, and March 8 through March 12. 
Updates for the Week of 10/26-10/30
The book parade is Friday, October 30. Students and staff only will be present, however, pictures will be shared and remote students will have an opportunity to share pictures of their costumes as well. 
Red Ribbon Week is October 26-30
Students and staff will have the opportunity to dress up each day during Red Ribbon Week to celebrate being drug-free.

October is Bully Prevention Month
Bully Prevention Month is October 2020. Let's "Stomp Out Bullying" by wearing blue on Monday, October 5th. Click to read about the other dress-up days in October. 
School Supplies Update
Due to COVID 19 and delayed shipping, our school supplies are running behind. We are so grateful that World Vision will still be providing them for CE. We will be supplying teachers with supplies for students until we receive the donation of supplies. You do not have to worry about buying any.  
New Drop-Off Location for 1, 2, 3, 4 Grades
Students who chose in-person instruction in grades 1st through 4th will be dropped off in the back off of Ohio Garden Rd to follow our reentry plan.  
Trinity River Trash Bash
CE will be joining in the Trinity River Trash Bash on Sept. 19th from 9-11 a.m. at the Trinity Trails.  
Castleberry Curbside: Read, Return, Repeat
Beginning September 1, all Castleberry ISD libraries will be offering “Castleberry Curbside: Read, Return, Repeat.” Providing library services and getting books into the hands of students and staff in the safest manner possible as campuses reopen is the top priority of Castleberry ISD Library Services.

2020-21 Update-Remote Instruction
In accordance with Judge Whitley’s order which was issued today, CISD will adhere to such order, which means our district will begin the school year delivering instruction remotely beginning on August 12, 2020, through September 27, 2020. In addition, more information will be sent to address such topics such as device pick-up, login information, and much more.
